The Institut Pasteur in Dakar (IPD) is a Senegalese non for profit Foundation, recognized as public utility institution, allowed to contribute to public health, particularly in Africa and Senegal. The Institut Pasteur of Dakar conducts research activities promotes education and training, establishes medical, epidemiological and biological reports. The Institute also produces a yellow fever vaccine under the statutes signed by the two founding members (the Government of the Republic of Senegal and the Pasteur Institute on September 29, 2009.

Education and training are an essential mission among IPD activities involving on the one hand, the staff of the IPD (administrative, technical, scientific and technical members and on the other hand, a number of trainers outside of the IPD in the framework of partnerships with universities in Senegal and the sub-region including the University Cheikh Anta Diop, the Gaston Berger University in St. Louis and the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

L'Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD) est une Fondation de droit sénégalais, reconnue d'utilité publique, à but non lucratif et est autorisée à contribuer à la santé publique, notamment en Afrique et en particulier au Sénégal, en menant des activités de recherche, d'enseignement, de formation, d'expertises médicales, épidémiologiques et biologiques et de production du vaccin antiamaril, dans les conditions fixées par les statuts signés entre les deux membres fondateurs (le Gouvernement de la République du Sénégal et l'Institut Pasteur) le 29 septembre 2009.

L’enseignement et la formation représentent une mission essentielle parmi les activités de l’IPD. D'une part, le personnel de l'IPD (cadres administratifs, techniques, scientifiques et techniciens) est concerné. D’autre part, est aussi concerné un assez bon nombre de stagiaires extérieurs à l'IPD dans le cadre de partenariats avec les universités du Sénégal et de la sous-région notamment l'Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar, l'Université Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis ou le Ministère de la Santé et de la Prévention.
